A Summer in Stockholm: Our Favourite Places to Eat, Drink and Unwind

There is something special about Stockholm in summer.
As the city slows down and the days stretch long into the evening, life naturally shifts outdoors. Mornings begin over coffee, afternoons are spent by the water, and dinner rarely ends before the last light disappears beyond the rooftops.
For those visiting Stockholm, or simply looking to rediscover the city, these are the places we return to every summer. A collection of cafés, restaurants, rooftop bars and hidden favourites that capture the season at its very best.
Begin the Day at Eken Café
Just a short stroll from Lund & Lund on Sturegatan, Eken has quickly become one of our favourite places to start the day.
Part bakery and part neighbourhood café, Eken offers an inviting atmosphere, excellent coffee and thoughtfully prepared breakfasts. Whether you are easing into a quiet morning before exploring Östermalm or meeting friends for an unhurried breakfast, it offers exactly the pace Stockholm encourages during summer.

Another long standing favourite is Café Saturnus.
Known throughout the city for its generous breakfasts, welcoming atmosphere and famously large pastries, Saturnus remains one of Stockholm's classic cafés. Located on Eriksbergsgatan, it has been a staple of the neighbourhood for decades and is as popular among locals as it is with visitors.
If you are searching for one of the best breakfast cafés in Stockholm, Saturnus remains a destination well worth visiting.
A Visit to Lund & Lund
Only moments away, you'll find Lund & Lund, our home on Sturegatan.
Summer is the perfect time to discover lightweight tailoring, linen shirts, loafers, premium swimwear and timeless wardrobe essentials from some of the world's finest menswear makers.
Whether you are dressing for a weekend in the city, a Mediterranean escape or simply embracing Scandinavian summer style, our collection is curated with versatility and craftsmanship in mind.

The Best Ice Cream in Stockholm
Few things define a Stockholm summer quite like an afternoon ice cream.
If there is one place we consistently recommend, it is Snö in Vasastan. Their artisanal gelato is produced fresh daily using carefully selected ingredients, with seasonal flavours that have made it one of the city's favourite ice cream destinations.
It is well worth the walk.

Lunch in the Sunshine
When lunchtime arrives, we often find ourselves at Calle P.
Set in the beautiful Berzelii Park, its outdoor terrace is one of Stockholm's finest places to enjoy a leisurely lunch in the sun. The menu is seasonal, the atmosphere lively without ever feeling rushed, and its location makes it the perfect starting point for an afternoon spent exploring central Stockholm.

If you have a little more time, we recommend leaving the city behind for a few hours and taking the boat to Fjäderholmarna.
Only around twenty minutes from central Stockholm, these islands offer waterfront restaurants, artisan workshops and a slower pace that feels worlds away from the city. It is one of the simplest and most enjoyable ways to experience the Stockholm Archipelago during summer.
A long lunch at Fjäderholmarnas Krog followed by a walk around the island is one of our favourite ways to spend a summer afternoon.

Cocktails Above the City
As the afternoon turns into evening, Stockholm is best experienced from above.
For elegant cocktails and panoramic views of the city, Le Hibou remains one of our favourite rooftop bars. Located on the top floor of Bank Hotel, this sophisticated cocktail bar combines a stylish interior with one of the city's most beautiful terraces.
It is an ideal place to watch Stockholm transition from day to night.

For a more relaxed but equally memorable setting, Pelago has quickly established itself as one of Stockholm's standout summer destinations.
Located high above Slussen, Pelago is both a rooftop restaurant and rooftop bar offering sweeping views across the city. Alongside excellent cocktails, the menu features carefully prepared dishes inspired by international flavours, making it equally suited for drinks, dinner or a long evening with friends.
It is the kind of place where one drink often turns into the entire evening.

Dinner at Restaurant Liv
To finish the day, we recommend booking a table at Restaurant Liv, one of Stockholm's most exciting recent openings.
Beautifully located at Mälarterrassen in Slussen, Liv combines panoramic views over the water with warm hospitality and thoughtful cooking. Created by chefs Tommy Myllymäki and Pi Le, the restaurant reflects a modern and approachable interpretation of Scandinavian dining.
Refined without feeling formal, it perfectly captures the spirit of Stockholm today.

The Perfect Stockholm Staycation
Whether you're visiting Stockholm for the first time or planning a weekend in your own city, few places capture Swedish hospitality quite like Ett Hem.
Often regarded as one of Europe's finest boutique hotels, Ett Hem feels more like a beautifully designed private residence than a traditional luxury hotel. Set across several elegant townhouses, it offers peaceful gardens, intimate interiors and a uniquely personal atmosphere.
It is refined, understated and distinctly Swedish.
Even if you are not staying overnight, Ett Hem remains one of Stockholm's most remarkable destinations and a wonderful source of inspiration for Scandinavian living.

Stockholm, the Lund & Lund Way
The best summer days are rarely overplanned.
They begin with coffee, continue with long walks through the city, an ice cream in the afternoon, lunch by the water, a rooftop drink as the sun begins to set and dinner shared with good company long after daylight should have disappeared.
If you are searching for the best things to do in Stockholm during summer, we hope this guide inspires you to experience the city the way we do.
And if your day brings you to Sturegatan, feel free to stop by us at Lund & Lund for an espresso or a beer.
